Changes to the Subclass 408: A Brief Overview

On the 2nd of March this year, Minister Hawke announced further adjustments for the Subclass 408 COVID-19 Pandemic Event Visa holders. According to the honorable minister, you are eligible for the visa with no government fees if you meet the following conditions.

1. You hold a visa, which permits work.
2. Your visa expires in under 90 days.
3. You arrived in Australia before, on, or after 21-02-2022 and have work rights or a job offer from commonwealth-funded aged care service at the time of application.
4. You already hold an employment contract or an offer of employment in Australia.

Please note: Currently, the COVID-19 Pandemic Event Subclass 408 Visa is available for you free of cost for 12 months if you are working in or have an offer letter from sectors including agriculture, food processing, health care, aged care, disability care, childcare, and tourism & hospitality.
